Solution: To work this out I needed to look at the goal tally. I then needed to find out who scored the goals against. I found out that Spain had to verse Chile.

1. Firstly I thought 3 x 3 = 9, so I thought the numbers might be in the 30’s.

2. Then I thought of three consecutive numbers that add up to 6.

3. Then I knew it would have to be 31, 32, 33.

Summary: The answer was 31+32+33=96. I used prior knowledge to work this question out.
